Thanks to a suggestion made by a favorite teacher of mine, Mrs. Sharon Eskola, Gary and I started keeping track of the count down of days until the wedding by reading through the Psalms backwards. It is best if you start on 150 days until the wedding, then you can read all 150 by reading one each day. However, we didn't start until day and Psalm 136 or so. Despite the late start, it has been marvelous to be "on the same page", if you will, with my fiance while we are so far apart.
Today, we read Psalm 121. In it, David declairs that our help comes from the Lord. The maker of heaven and of earth. What should we be afraid of? What should we worry or fret about? I am one of those people that worries about everything it seems. However, today, I am reminded again that there is no need to worry. God's in charge, and what's more, he cares.
Thank you, Sharron, for suggesting this simple and uplifting way to grow closer to Gary despite the distance. And, thank you, Lord, for your promises and for looking out for me.
