Whipped cream: 2 Christi: 0

Strawberry shortcake is quite possibly my very favorite dessert! A very thoughtful co-worker of mine brought some for my boss' birthday, and I decided to have a piece today. Unfortunately, while I was spreading the whipped cream over it, the knife fumbled in my hand, bounced off the counter and my pants, and onto the floor.

Nice.

So, I cleaned everything up, and finished adding strawberries to my scrumptious creation. As I sat at the table to enjoy it, I notice a newly applied line of smudged whipped cream down my pants... Seriously?

What I failed to noticed is that the knife on it's way to the ground not only bounced off the counter and my pants, it also bounced off a towel hanging innocently from a drawer. After I wiped the whipped cream off of my pants the first time, I proceeded to lean up against the aforementioned towel, thus re-applying whipped cream down my person.

Smooth, Christi. Real smooth.

Despite this disruption, the strawberry shortcake was amazing, and I couldn't help but wonder if it would make an appropriate and applauded form of wedding cake. Any thoughts?

  1. That would be ever so yummy! I am sure a bakery could make it! It probably would just have to be served with the strawberries on the side, or something like that!
