The Zoo Full of Dragon tied Ribbons

This past weekend was highly productive. On Saturday, I took my Grandpa to the Zoo! I had talked about doing this in this previous blog, and we had a blast! We figured it had been at least 13 years since we had been to the zoo together, and we reminisced about what we could remember from that day. The Tigers were interactive and walked straight for us when we stopped by their exhibit. I took a video of this encounter and sent it to Gary, because we both love Tigers, and I knew he would appreciate it. We went out to eat for dinner at Bridgemans. We were surprised to find that they have traded their ceiling fans in for spaceships, and have a new mural painted on their entrance wall that is nothing short of amazing.

Later, we went to the movie How to Train Your Dragon. For those who haven't seen it, it's amazing! My grandpa and I started this dinner and a movie date thing over a year ago now. We've seen 10,000 BC, UP!, The Bucket List, and now How to Train Your Dragon on the big screen. It had been decades since my Grandpa had been on a date to the theaters when I took him to 10,000 BC. The movie itself, to my taste, was predictable, and the graphics weren't as believable as I've seen. My Grandpa on the other hand, was impressed! They had a saber tooth tiger and giant elephants and pyramids and impossible stunts, love, drama, and fight scenes! What more could you ask for?

He truly enjoyed How to Train Your Dragon and interacted with me trying to predict what was going to happen next!

We played cards with Kevin before I went home and watched the 10th Kingdom with Gary over skype. It was the ideal day.

Sunday, Tammie, Norma, and Linda (Gary's Grandma and her sister) helped me put together invitations. Before they started helping, I had 60 invitations completed. Now, we have 140 complete! The remaining 60 only need the black ribbon tied on them and they are good to go! They were a big help, and now, because of their time they put in, we will be able to get all of the invites out soon!

  1. That sounds like such a grand way to spend time with your gramps! I wish I lived close enough to mine to go do that! Or to reminisce upon our saturday morning burger king runs + rollerblading on the boardwalk... Good times!

I reallyreally need to go see "how to train your dragon" I hear Craig Ferguson is a character in it and I love him.. And the previews make it seem so cool, that I don't even need to kidnap a young child to go with me without it feeling awkward! I must go, asap!

I am glad you were able to pull together a team to get your invites worked on! Thats awesome! I already have my lists compiled of who I will reel in for help when that time comes!

    xoxo
